TiewThai Khon La Khrueng: Enjoying the Beauty of Thailand with the “Half-Half Thai Travel” Project Subsidised by The Government

Travelers, at the ready. Thailand just launched the exciting new local travel programme that makes exploring the country more affordable than ever. The “TiewThai Khon La Khrueng” or “Half-Half Thai Travel” project comes into effect on the 1st of July, 2025. With 1.76 billion baht in government funding, it’s an initiative designed to help more people discover Thailand’s beautiful destinations at incredibly affordable prices while boosting the country’s economy. Whether you want to explore Thailand’s major cities or discover the more peaceful smaller towns, you can save big on hotel stays with the government paying for half of your hotel expenses.

Who is Eligible for TiewThai Khon La Khrueng? How To Register?

To be suitable for the “Half-Half Thai Travel” campaign, individuals must be Thai citizens, aged 18 or over, hold a valid ID card, and be able to verify their identity through the Thai ID Application

Once you’ve successfully signed up for the “TiewThai Khon La Khrueng” or “Half-Half Thai Travel” project, your entitlements will be valid till 31st October 2025.

Benefits of TiewThai Khon La Khrueng

There are 500,000 allotments available for the successfully registered individuals across the country. The successful applicants are entitled to five allotments each. They can stay at an accommodation in main cities for 3 nights, and accommodations at secondary cities for 2 nights.

1st Benefit: Discount up to 50% for Accommodation

Major Cities 

  • Weekday (Monday-Friday) – Receive 50% financial support from government (not exceeding THB 3,000 / night)
  • Weekend (Saturday-Sunday) and Public Holidays – Receive 40% financial support from government (not exceeding THB 3,000 / night)

Secondary Cities 

  • Regardless of day of the week, receive 50% financial support from government (not exceeding THB 3,000 / night)

2nd Benefit: Discount up to 50% on F&B / Sightseeing / Other Services

  • Receive a 50% discount for registered restaurants, tourist attractions, souvenir shops, and more. (Kindly check registered businesses in the Amazing Thailand application.)
  • Whenever purchasing any goods or services, a discount of 50% will be applied. The remaining cost must be covered by the individual. Payments must be made via E-Payment only.
